Michelle Joseph

Michelle Joseph is a guru of developing innovative strategic programs, implementation and scaling them in an agile, socially responsible way. In her current role at Verizon, she serves as an adfellow manager, where she is responsible for adfellows program design, partner & candidate recruitment, success measures & DE&I efforts. 

Michelle joined the Verizon Foundation team after Verizon committed to play an important role former President Obama’s ConnectED initiative.  Her work has been instrumental in helping Verizon surpass its commitment of providing STEM engagement and access opportunities to over 1 million students. 

Prior to joining the Verizon Foundation, Michelle spent 20 years in public education:

·   as a high school history teacher

·   public policy debate coach

·   Supervisor of Adult Education for English Language Learners

·   an Assistant Principal for overaged at-risk students

·   Principal of an Entrepreneurship themed high school in the Bronx  

·   Managed Innovative Pilots for NYC Dept. Of Education where her work had the ability to impact the 1million plus students enrolled in NYC schools

Michelle is the mother of an 11-year son & resides in Brooklyn, NY.  Though a resident of Brooklyn, Michelle is a native of Trinidad & Tobago and loves spicy food and music.
