Renee Lapeyrolerie

Renee Lapeyrolerie is a native of St. John the Baptist Parish and was appointed March 2, 2020, by Governor John Bel Edwards. The Office of Multimodal Commerce was formed in 2016 within the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), to enhance the state’s focus on multimodal transportation.

 

Renee has nearly 30 years of both public service and private sector experience. She comes to DOTD after eight years in business development for an engineering firm specializing in water, energy, environment, and transportation, from where she was tapped to serve on the Interim Emergency Management Team at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.

 

Renee is a former executive director of the Louisiana Democratic Party and founder of High Note Communications, a political consulting and public relations agency. Her public service included international relations, economic development, public housing, land records, and law enforcement agencies. She has served as a member of the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District Board of Commissioners, and the New Orleans Historic Districts Landmark Commission.

Lapeyrolerie is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, a Fellow of the Loyola Institute of Politics, and studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
