Dr. Jill West

Dr. Jill West (she/her) received Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees in Psychology from Tulane University.  She completed her doctoral internship in School Psychology through the Louisiana School Psychology Internship Consortium and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology with Children’s Hospital New Orleans.  She is currently the Section Head for Child Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics at Ochsner Hospital for Children.  Dr. West’s primary clinical practice is in Pediatric Psychology, focusing on the interplay between psychology and medicine for youth with chronic/recurrent or significant medical conditions.  Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. West has participated with a group of colleagues to advise Louisiana schools about strategies for the safe return to school.  She serves as the Wellness Liaison for University of Queensland medical students during their time with Ochsner Clinical School and she is the Co-Director for Clinical Training for internship- and fellowship-level psychology trainees.  Dr. West is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), including the Society of School Psychology, Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, and the Society of Pediatric Psychology.  She lives in New Orleans with her husband and two children.
